YUCK. I just looked at my book list for this semester. SOOOO many, and SOOOO expensive. Plus, the two most expensive (each about $150) are "sets", ie, I don't know if I can buy them online because the teacher may have included a special pamphlet or study guide with the book itself that will be required in some way.
UCK. Again. They should say there are THREE certainties in life: Death. Taxes. And getting ripped off buying books for college. Added up, I have about $500 in books to buy this year. Do you know how much AG that would get me? Lots! Basically everything I want.
Oh well. At the beginning of the year, I budgeted $1200 for books and lab fees. So far I've spent about $600, so I'm still on budget, at least. It just would have been nice to have some extra spending money for, oh, I don't know, rent, at the end of the year.

Girl, I feel your pain.
After paying for rent and books this semester, I have a little left for groceries...that's it. I think I will actually need more for groceries (must find job! ACK!).
AG isn't really in the budget for me right now. Stupid overpriced higher education!
I know that someday it will all be worth it. Someday. Man, I want my degree now!

Hang in there girls. I just finished university and my master program this summer. Finally after 7 years of "higher education" I am done.
I understand the cost of school and I will for sure be paying it off slowly over the next few years -but it is worth it!
Don't worry about AG - that will come too. I got my first doll last year (PM Sam from ebay) I was 28. She is very special because I waited. Just be happy with whatever you have and concentrate on school.
Good Luck - and hey we are all here when you need support

Has anyone ever seen "Everybody Hates Chris." The dad in that show, whenever he sees someone eating anything in their house, or the kids wasting something, there's a little cash register sound as the "Total Money Wasted" comes up.
That is EXACTLY how I feel when buying food or anything. Ca-ching, ca-ching as I add up the daily total. I just did a rough estimate, and I'll have about $10.70 a day to live on (including gas, food, and play money) until around July/August (then I have to get another loan). So the "Ca-ching-ing" is just going to get worse. But hopefully when I graduate I'll have a good job...hopefully.
